Dr. Anita Stola, MD is a neonatal-perinatal pediatrician and has over 26 years of experience in the medical field. We are grateful to Dr. Anita Stola for sharing this informative video.

Physiologic jaundice is a common and usually harmless condition in newborns that causes yellowing of the skin and the whites of the eyes. This yellow coloring is due to a high level of bilirubin, a substance created by the breakdown of red blood cells. It's called "physiologic" because it is a normal process that occurs as the baby's body is adjusting to life outside the womb.

Health Providers often refer Enlighten Infant Home Care to help babies with elevated bilirubin levels. Contact Enlighten Infant Home Care. We have helped over 200 babies in the comfort of their own home.
